The above photographs are of the nature reserve at Batesmans Wood in Leycett,it has been a nature reserve for some years now and is controlled by Staffordshire Wildlife Trust.These are pictures of the wetland at Batemans wood,there is plenty more to see when you are actually up there.If you go to Batemans woods you will more than likely see a variety of birds up there ranging from Snipe and Lapwing but it is well known for being a stronghold for Skylark.You can walk straight through the woods and end up at the chip shop in Halmer End next to the Minnie pit memorial benches.
