This is a photo of a Mr Joe Evans Sitting on his 1949 James Cadet Motorcycle in Middle Street.He purchased this motorcycle as he lived in Betley and worked as a miner at Leycett Colliery and wanted to save himself the bus journey to work and back every day which was roughly three miles each way - so when you had done a hard shift down the pit the last thing you would have wanted was a three mile trek home.
As you will see from the photo his motorcycle is as good as new and appears to be fitted with quite a few optional extras.
