Below is a postcard that was sent to Miss Bedder of Moss Lane,Leycett from her cousin in law,it was sent on 21st March 1906 from Crewe.
It reads,"I hope you and your mother in law will agree together,from your Cousin in Law".

In 1909 Leycett Cricket Club published a book called 'Garden Party & Sale of Work Book of Receipes',this was sold in order to raise funds to build the
new mission church (St Saviours).The book is made up of receipes dontaed to the cause by men and women mainly from Leycett and a few from the
surrounding areas.I have listed below a few of the receipes in the book for you to try if you like.If you want a copy of the book please

Winter Pea Soup - Herbert C Whalen,Leycett1 pint of peas,1 slice of bacon,1 pound of shin beef,2 carrots,1 turnip,1 head of celery,about 2 quarts of water to prepare.Method:- Put the peas into soak over nightand boil in 2 quarts of water or stock,until soft enough to pulp through a colander,add the bacon,shin beef,turnips,carrots and celery cut in peices,let it simmer together for 2 hours,skimming occasionally,pass through a seive and season with salt. Fruit Cake - M Simister,Leycett Bank,Leycett1/2 lb butter,1/2 lb sugar,6 oz's raisins,1/4 lb mixed peel,1 teaspoonful baking powder,3/4 lb flour,1/4 lb ground almonds,6 oz's currants,3 eggs,teacupful of milk,a little flavouring if liked.Method:- Beat up butter and sugar,add eggs separatley,gradually add flour and almonds to which baking powder has been added dryly,add remainder of fruit and milk,bake in moderate oven for 2-3 hours.Fig Pudding - Mrs J Millington - Leycett1/4 lb bread crumbs,1/4 lb suet,1/4 lb flour,1 egg,1/4 lb sugar,1/2 lb figs cut small,milk to make a thick better,steam for 2 hours.Serve with custard sauce. Mutton Stew - Mrs W G Peasgood,Leycett1 lb neck of mutton,a little carrot and turnip,suet balls and seasoning,1 spanish onion.Method:- Fry the onion in dripping until brown,then take it out and stir into the dripping as much flour as it will take without getting stiff.Stir carefully until it browns and then add water to make a fairly thick sauce.Cut the meat into about 5 peices and take of the fat,put into the sauce to cook for about 2 hours.Then put the suet balls in and cook for another hour.Season with salt,pepper,mace and a little vinegar. Needlework sales book from the School
Woodlands County Primary children used to make all sorts of needlework items at the school which were sold on to members of the community at Leycett,somw of the sales of these items are listed below,i have not detailed all of them as there about 100 years worthof sales.The children also used to knit scarves for the soldiers during the war. 31st October 1904 R Tomkinson - Overalls 2d .
